Guest book reviews:
If you are reading the comments for this incredible property, don’t hesitate and just book! This was a vacation for the soul, the windmill was beautifully renovated, the countryside was lovely. Clare was a wonderful host, from all her tips on the local surroundings to her amazing fresh bread. We loved every second and will be back soon hopefully! Alexa
This place is better then the photos show, it is truly amazing and we just loved staying here. In fact the only sad thing was having to leave, it is one of the best places we have ever stayed in so a big thank you to Clare for making it so special!
See you again,
Tor & Joe
Best ever! What a place to stay thanks so much Clare for everything we loved it all.

Old Smock is just as dreamy as it looks - if not more. Granted, it helped that we had the sort of weather shown in the pictures but the pictures are an entirely accurate reflection of what a special place this is. Every single detail has been considered and there are objects and bits of design everywhere that make you smile. It's fun and unique but never at the expense of comfort or luxury. The views are beautiful too and the location is restful and quiet without being too remote. Clare is the cherry on top. We felt like we were staying with a friend - but the best kind of friend who bakes you a delicious loaf of bread, is there when you need her but leaves you to it! We'll definitely try to come back. Thank you Clare!
Wow! Amazing Windmill.
Staying in your pretty windmill has been the most relaxing weekend that I will never forget. Thank you Paul & Sony
Thank you so much for allowing us to live out a little dream in your
beautiful windmill. H & R
So sorry to be leaving. We have had the most amazing holiday. The windmill is an absolute delight and Clare pays such attention to detail-
the little posies of flowers and the welcome pack. Thanks you so much. Even the weather was glorious. We would love to come and stay here again! Rosemary & Barry
The windmill is simply stunning a real treat to stay in. The bed is divine to sleep in. Attention to detail amazing. Welcome basket a generous touch. A perfect place to unwind for a couple of days away from the bustle of London. Alex & Kit
Everything was perfect! The mill with every detail made you feel at home. The warm welcome of Clare and her husband.
After 3 days we thought we were at home.... Thankyou

Since returning from the Old Smock Windmill, we haven't stopped telling everyone about it! It is truly amazing and we had the most perfect stay. Clare has renovated the windmill beautifully, with immaculate attention to detail. It's incredibly cosy and we felt at home as soon as we walked in.
Clare is a wonderful and friendly host, providing us with a welcome basket of organic eggs and fresh local produce on arrival, as well as a brief history of the windmill which was great.
I can't recommend the old smock windmill more - two nights was definitely not long enough!
Had an absolutely heavenly two days staying in Clare's stunning Windmill. We couldn't get over the attention to detail that Clare has put into restoring the Mill so lovingly. Effortlessly charming surroundings to enjoy a peaceful recharge of the batteries. Every little luxury was thought of and done without pretension. Can't wait to go back. Martha
23-25th May 2014 We've had such a wonderful stay we were torn between exploring the beautiful local area and just staying in and appreciating the Mill!! A lovely place to unwind from London life and Clare is an excellent and accommodating host. Joe & Kai
21st February 2014 - Thank you for sharing your beautiful windmill
with us. You have created the perfect retreat, peaceful, beautiful and so relaxing. The restoration has been done with such care and passion with amazing attention to detail, it really shows. Grand designs eat your heart out!! We don't want to leave so you may be stuck with us for a while! E & B
The Old Smock Mill is currently fitted out for the accommodation of two persons only with one car. Due to its timber structure the old smock mill is a non smoking area.
It is important to note that the windmill has three staircases to climb which might not be suitable to some.
In addition, because we have our own lovely dogs here, so sorry pets are not allowed to stay.
There is a minimum of 2 night booking, we are sorry but single nights are not available usually.
From £175 per night.
Please email Clare Winchester to enquire about availability, deposit and booking.
